January Budget

So last month we grossed $15,737.43. Not quite as spectacular as last month but not too shabby.

Deductions came to $3,554.36:

Federal Income Tax $2,257.97, Medicare Tax $176.95, Insurance Premium $154.02, 401K $962.36 and Group Term Life $3.06.

$8,007.95 stayed in checking:

American Express $930.77, House payment $2,023.33, Utilites $193.00, Cable $69.06, Internet $56.21, Daycare $1,060.00, Garbage $74.04, Phone $46.54, HELoC $524.09, Rainier Pacific Visa $171.00, Gymnastics $30.00, Multicare $42.57, Groceries $792.06, Weight Watchers $39.95, Partylite $119.31, Bed, Bath and Beyond (stuff for the new bathroom) $138.03, Borders (Ron bought a book out of budget) $20.62, The Home Depot (stuff for the new bathroom) $162.50, Payless Shoe Source (we bought Robby shoes for job interviews) $38.06, Stanley Steemer (we were over this much on the carpet cleaning budget) $471.50, Lighting Universe (light for the new bathroom) $147.86, Office Max (we bought a printer for Robby for Christmas after we had already spent all of his Christmas money, when we take back the hockey helmet that we bought him it will go into income to make up for this) $87.03, Petsmart $22.85 (bought calendars for Nicole and I), Barnes & Noble (I can't remember but obviously out of budget), City Treasurer (this was our utility bill for the month, it freaked me out so I am back to paying $193.00 a month so we will never get a big bill) $614.52 and Robby (he was negative in his bank account so they yanked the amount from our account, Ugh!) $123.26.

As you can see, there was quite a bit of extra spending last month. I guess it is to be expected for December. We are done spending on the bathroom remodel so that will help too.

$2,355.39 was transfered to short term savings:

Mustang tabs $9.08, haircuts $72.00, my dad's birthday $50.00, Turbo Tax $29.95, Valentine's Day $50.00, Robby's birthday $300.00, Robby tuition (March 2008) $960.90, Robby's books (March 2008) $500.00, Ron's mom's birthday $50.00, Easter $300.00 and Owen Clothing $33.46.

This brings the balance of our short term savings to $3,727.76:
